Shell and the Van Gogh Museum’s Supervisory Board

May 11, 2018 By FFCNL

Gary Tinterow, member of the Supervisory Board of the Van Gogh Museum, also happens to be the director of the The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston in Houston, USA. Entrance to his museum is always free on Thursday. Courtesy of Shell…

Keeping with the Code Cultural Governance, the Van Gogh Museum website states that the proper functioning of their Supervisory Board is closely linked to the objectivity and independence of its members. Objectivity? Independence? Don’t think so. Shell’s stained tentacles reach out and they reach wide. Polluting board rooms while polluting the planet.

The Van Gogh Museum employs the euphemism ‘Partners in Science’ to refer to their toxic sponsorship from Shell. With the pending court case against the climate wrecking company initiated by Milieudefensie, we ask the Museum: are you partners in science or partners in crime?
