For the open gathering #7, we invite you to join us at the HoP Artist-in-Residence Showcase: Workshopping, Performing, Listening: Reassign Disobedience, at 4bid Gallery | OT301, on the 26th September from 16:30 to 22:00.
For three months, the artists have developed their practices in Amsterdam through artistic research, experimentation, and exchange. The showcase brings together three distinct artistic propositions across the afternoon and evening. They belong to the same residency and curatorial context, but each event can be experienced independentl

Disobedience = Creativity Zine Workshop by Nuka Horvat

What can disobedience teach us about creativity?
Together, we’ll reflect on our positions in society and explore creativity as a tool for imagining and building different ways of living. We’ll play with forms and ideas of civil and social disobedience as creative practice, experimenting with zines, poetry, diary entries, drawings, questions and other forms of expression.
No previous experience is needed.

Starting at 19:00 at 4bid Gallery and extending towards the OT301 building
Once, in the future, a body became a bear. Or perhaps it was already carrying one.
bear.ing is a speculative installation where a mythology takes shape from a large, fat body: part bear, part unicorn, part archive, part becoming.
The work begins with bear: to carry, to endure, to give birth, to be a bear. What if not fitting is not a failure, but a form of world-making? What if there is already more than one body inside a body?
Somewhere between archive and prophecy, bear.ing becomes a site of birth: where a creature, a body, a language and a mythology are carried into being.

Somer Şpat
On the 3rd floor of the OT301 building at 21:00
A broadcast can transmit a situation.
It can also create one.
But what can a broadcast do in a precarious time?
Through Piskalama, a publishing and broadcasting platform, Somer Şpat has been experimenting with field broadcasting as a way of creating situations in real time — moving between places, voices, encounters and interruptions. Broadcasting becomes a way of sharing what is happening as it happens, while also becoming part of the situation itself.
The broadcast is not simply a channel through which something happens elsewhere. It becomes a condition through which something can happen here.
For the final presentation at OT301, this relationship between situation and transmission continues throughout the building. The building becomes a field of movement, happenings and interruptions. The broadcast enters the situation, and the situation enters the broadcast.
The conditions are prepared.
The outcome is not.
In Between
There is no need to rush from one work to another. Move in and out. Between the acts, take some time to meet, talk, digest what you have experienced — or simply have something to eat and drink at the delicious and affordable Café Gilde @cafegilde.mokum, next to the 4bid Gallery, also in the OT301 building.
One Last Conversation
Following the final performance, Home of Participation will bring the three residents together for a brief round of questions, opening a final informal conversation around their works, their processes, and what emerged during their months in Amsterdam at Home of Participation in the first floor.
We’ll then close the showcase and celebrate the residency with drinks together!
